Florida Panthers Agree to Terms with Forward Troy Brouwer on a 1-Year Contract

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have agreed to terms with forward Troy Brouwer on a one-year, one-way contract.

“Troy is a skilled veteran forward with championship experience,” said Tallon. “He adds depth to our forward group and his leadership will help our developing young core take the next step this season.”

Brouwer, 33, appeared in 76 games recording 22 points (6-16-22) with the Calgary Flames during the 2017-18 season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Vancouver, BC has played in 763 career National Hockey League games recording 341 points (169-172-341) with Chicago (2006-07 to 2010-11), Washington (2011-12 to 2014-15), St. Louis (2015-16) and Calgary (2016-17 to 2017-18). In 2013-14 and 2014-15, Brouwer produced a career-high 43 points in consecutive seasons, while setting personal bests in goals (25, 2013-14) and assists (22, 2014-15).

Brouwer has played in 102 NHL playoff games recording 34 points (15-19-34). Brouwer was a member of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and helped the St. Louis Blues reach the Western Conference Final in 2016 with eight goals and 13 points in 20 games played.

Brouwer was originally selected by Chicago in the seventh round (214th overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft.
