MIAMI, FL – Eric Dibami has announced his commitment to the FIU Men’s Basketball team and will be donning blue and gold on the court this fall. He had previously received offers from Jacksonville State, Southern Mississippi, and Georgia Southern. Dibami is a 6’10, 235-pound forward who originates from Cameroon.
What Dibami Brings To The Table
Even though Eric Dibami was born in a Central African country, he played high school basketball in France. While there, he played for the Espoirs Boulogne-Levallois basketball team, which is part of the LNB Espoirs (U21) league.
With stats available as far back as 2023-24, Dibami logged 16.6 minutes a game in 18 games played. Eric Dibami averaged 6.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 0.7 APG, 0.9 SPG, and 0.9 BPG. Despite being just 17 years old, the fact that he put up these numbers while competing with adults is quite impressive.
In the summer of 2024, the big man made the move to settle in Miami. During his senior season, he played for ABF Academy in Hialeah, FL. While there, he averaged 14.8 points per game in 17 games played.
ABF Academy runs under the Miami Prep School. Dibami has played in tournaments such as the Big Shots Prep Nationals 2025 Post-Grad SLAM Division. He played with another recent FIU Men’s Basketball commit, Thiago Sucatzky, during that stretch.
This team was elite, having won the tournament championship while he was their second-top scorer.

High motor, excellent spin and drop step, good lateral movement on defense, protects the rim, and can switch off the pick and roll.
