USC Upstate guard Brit Harris has announced his commitment to FIU. Harris was previously playing Division II basketball.

In his lone season at the University of South Carolina Upstate, he started 15 of his 30 games while averaging 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 24.1 minutes per game. He dished out a career-high of six assists in three separate contests. The 6’4 guard also shot 37.3% from behind the arc, converting 41 three-pointers last season.

Grand Valley State and high school career
Before his time at USC Upstate, Harris spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Grand Valley State.
During the 2023-24 season, he was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team. He started in 12 of his 30 games, averaging 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds while playing 26.7 minutes per game. Harris scored a career-high of 25 points behind an 11-of-18 shooting performance against Ferris State on March 10, 2024. He also recorded a career high of 13 rebounds on March 9, 2024, against Northern Michigan. That season, Harris had 16 double-figure scoring games, including seven where he scored over 20 points.
During the 2022-23 season, he started in 21 of his 30 games, averaging 6.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while playing 21.9 minutes per game. Harris scored a season-high of 21 points against Ferris State on February 25, 2023. He also had a season-high of eight rebounds against Saginaw Valley on January 14, 2023. He finished the season with 10 double-figure scoring games, including seven where he scored over 20 points.
Brit Harris played high school basketball at Don Bosco Prep in Crown Point, Indiana. As a two-year captain, he was awarded Team Most Valuable Player, All-Conference, and All-State between the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2020, he was named Team Most Improved Player. Harris averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists during his interscholastic career.
