MIAMI, FL – FIU Softball has announced that they have added a pair of outfielders in McKenna Robbins and Chloe Bedwell. Both are coming to FIU as freshmen, with Robbins majoring in psychology and Bedwell majoring in real estate.

Staying Home in Florida

From Fort Myers, Florida, McKenna Robbins graduated from Bishop Verot Catholic High School this past spring. Robbins ranked as one of the Florida class of 2025’s Top 10 outfielders. In 2024, she was the 3A Player of the Year and won Overall MVP.

That season, she hit .474 with 32 stolen bases, four home runs, slugged .821, and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. McKenna Robbins won Offensive MVP in 2023 and 2024 and was selected to the Florida Watchlist from 2023 to 2025. Robbins has played travel club softball for the Florida Thunderbolts Gatewood-Breadmore.

New Speedster on the Basepaths

From Townsend, Delaware, Chloe Bedwell, graduated from Saint Mark’s High School this past spring. In 2025, Bedwell was named First Team All-State and a First Team All-Non-Conference outfielder. She led her team in batting average and stole over 80 bases in her career.

Bedwell earned the MVP award on her softball team and the school’s Outstanding Athlete Award. Not only is Chloe Bedwell a star on the diamond, but she also excels on the turf and track. A multi-sport athlete, Bedwell won a flag football state championship in 2024 and the Mini Maxwell Flag Football Award.

She won the 4 x 200 metres relay at the 2023 state championship in indoor track and field, earning All-State honors. Chloe Bedwell has competed with the softball club Unity, where she has continually hit over .500, led her team in stolen bases, and has been selected three times for the All-American Watch List.
