About Vice Night

The Panthers debuted their “VICE Night” tradition in 2023, where they swap navy blue and gold for black, pink, and teal. This was inspired by the 1980s NBC crime drama Miami Vice, which featured Don Johnson as James “Sonny” Crockett and Phillip Michael Thomas as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs.

In each of the last three seasons, FIU unveiled an exclusive alternate uniform, featuring the Miami Vice concept. Suitably, Friday’s reveal came out at 3:05 pm ET, the same time as the city’s classic area code.

Armando Christian Pérez, also known as Pitbull, will once again be a presenting sponsor of VICE for the third straight year. FIU Athletics is in a historic naming-rights agreement with Pitbull. With the rebranding of its playing field to Pitbull Stadium, it became the first athletics venue to carry the name of a recording artist.

Vice U History

With the release of these new uniforms, FIU is already making FBS history, being the first team to wear a base-pink uniform. During the game, expect to see a luxurious Lamborghini on the sidelines once again.

FIU’s 2023 VICE jersey and pants were all-black with fuchsia palm trees. In 2024, their jersey and pants were all-white with hot pink and light blue gradients. Their 2025 attire marked a return to a black base with vibrant pink/teal stripes.

The Panthers haven’t just used the VICE uniforms on the football field. They’ve also used similar designs in other sports such as soccer, basketball, and baseball.

Additional history is on the line for the Panthers against the Aggies. They are looking for their first-ever VICE Night victory. VICE U lost the 2023, 2024, and 2025 contests to UTEP, Sam Houston, and Kennesaw State.
