Kiara Clarke – The Lockdown Defender
From Palm Bay, Florida, Kiara Clarke is set to join FIU’s defensive game plan. A transfer from Marquette, Clarke is no stranger to collegiate competition. As a freshman, she started 18 of 19 matches, contributing two assists and logging over 1000 minutes on the field.
Clarke’s high school career at Palm Bay Magnet was just as impressive as her Marquette run. She was a three‑time varsity letterwinner and captain. She was also named to first‑team all‑conference honors and was named team MVP. Her best game came during the biggest stage on the field, helping Palm Bay clinch a conference championship victory with a hat-trick performance.

Carsyn Petersen – Defensive Mastermind
Joining Kiara, the Panthers also brought in junior defender Carsyn Petersen from Greeley, Colorado. Petersen played her first two years at Daytona State College, starting 15 of 19 games this past year. She helped the Falcons earn the Region 8 Conference Championship and the Southeast District Championship in her sophomore year. A player not new to being on the big stage, now takes her talents to FIU, which is coming off a conference championship.
FIU’s 2025 Campaign
Both Clarke and Petersen strengthen key areas for the Panthers. Targeting their backline unit, they have some great depth for this season and next. Both girls, coming from a history of winning, will have no issues transitioning to the FIU winning culture.
As this fresh duo joins the Panthers, you will see competitiveness, leadership, and defensive focus throughout the season. FIU is prepared to make another run for a second conference championship in the program’s school history.
