Lemon City Live 2025 Heisman Watchlist | Week 14

Miami, Florida – This is it, the final week of the season and the penultimate edition of the 2025 Lemon City Live Heisman Watchlist. The last hurrah for the Heisman hopefuls and for the teams across college football looking to either clinch a spot in the CFP, earn a bowl game, or finish the season on a positive note. Those outside of the top five are highly unlikely to capture the highest accolade in the league. However, that won’t stop them from carrying their respective teams to victory for the season finale. Two such individuals are Ty Simpson and Haynes King. Simpson went from being at the top of the list in week 9 to completely out of it by week 13. In this field, the loss to Oklahoma proved too much.

King, on the other hand, has been knocking on the door for weeks. He seemed poised to make it until the loss to Pitt. The Heisman race, at least for him, was already over, but it would’ve been nice to see the ACC represented again. A win over Georgia might do that. A certain other player might have something to say about it, though. The latest edition features the same group from last week, largely due to the scheduling of weak opponents. In fact, there was little movement.

Fernando Mendoza

Previous Ranking: 1

The second-ranked Indiana Hoosiers were on a bye week, so Fernando Mendonza took a breather. The Miami-native currently tallies 2,641 yards, 30 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Mendonza also has five rushing TDs. He will close out the season with Purdue, and all indications are that the team will remain undefeated. Does his body of work translate to a Heisman trophy is the question.

Marcel Reed

Previous Ranking: 2

The third-ranked Texas A&M Aggies took on Samford, and Marcel Reed did as expected, throwing for 120 yards and scoring three times. Reed has racked up 2,752 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight INTs in addition to six rushing TDs. The Aggies will end the year on the road at No. 17 Texas, and if Reed can work some magic there, it will go a long way.

Julian Sayin

Previous Ranking: 3

Top-ranked Ohio State faced off against Rutgers and easily handled them, winning 42-9. Julian Sayin had the least impressive outing, passing for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sayin’s final opponent will be significantly harder, as his team finishes the season with a road trip to visit No. 18 Michigan. Those keeping score will note the Wolverines have won the last four meetings.

Diego Pavia

Previous Ranking: 5

I don’t think Diego Pavia will be a Heisman finalist, but I really liked his presence on the field. Not only did Pavia have the “hardest” opponent of the bunch, he also performed to expectations. The Vanderbilt signal caller lit up Kentucky to the tune of 484 yards, six touchdowns (including one rushing), tempered by a lone pick. Pavia has 2,924 yards, 26 TDs, 6 INTs, and eight rushing scores. He will end it with No. 20 Tennessee.

Gunner Stockton

Previous Ranking: 4

Talk about a dramatic turnaround. Gunner Stockton went from an impressive five-touchdown performance over then tenth-ranked Texas last weekend to a rather quiet outing with the Charlotte 49ers, recording 196 yards and one INT. He didn’t score once in the 35-3 victory. Ouch. Amassing 2,465 yards, 19 touchdowns (plus eight rushing TDs), and four interceptions, Stockton finishes the season in a juicy matchup with Georgia Tech.
