Despite the scoreline, FIU’s midfield duo of Alessandro Campoy and Matias Barraza did a great job controlling the tempo of the game for FIU. In the 40th minute, defender Kareem Enzo fouled a player in the box.  the foul lead to a Gamecock penalty, in which, they capitalized on the opportunity, taking a commanding 3-1 lead. FIU came roaring back. Talla Faye scored a goal for FIU in the final minute ending the half with a score of 3-2.

In the second half, the goals may have been missing, but the action was not. Both teams had plenty of chances to score, but sadly no team could find that back of the net. In the second half, FIU had nine shots but only two on goal. The second half was equally aggressive as there were five yellow cards handed out between both teams.
